About this course
The course introduces key ideas in physics across microscopic and macroscopic scales. Topics include energy and forces, electromagnetism, gravity, the strong and weak forces, atomic nuclei, radioactivity, light and the quantum realm. Teaching combines tutor presentations with visual examples, group discussion and question-and-answer sessions. Participants will consider how forces operate, what light consists of, how gravity works, and how particles behave according to key quantum theories.

This introductory course is open to all. GCSE-level knowledge of physics or science is recommended, while a good grasp of English is needed to follow the teaching and take part in discussions. Participation includes listening to different viewpoints and contributing constructively to group discussion and Q&A.
