Art History: Gallery Visits: Contemporary Art

About this course

Each session takes place in a different London gallery, museum or exhibition space, where participants first view the work before examining an artist, exhibition or theme in contemporary art practice. Topics may include identity, migration, technology, memory and political critique. Teaching combines short talks with group and one-to-one discussion, informed analysis of works on display and regular tutor feedback. The course considers the methods and ideas of established and emerging artists within the gallery context.

No prior knowledge of contemporary art is required, although an interest in the subject is desirable. Participation involves viewing exhibitions and contributing to facilitated group and individual discussions.

Before you go
