Batter-tea time (muni X art'otel)

About this course

Participants use hand-building techniques to shape a contemporary tea tumbler and saucer. The workshop also covers attaching surface decorations, with curated inspiration images available alongside the option to develop a personal design. Support is provided as needed throughout the making process. The finished pieces are glazed after the workshop using one of the studio’s glazes.

Is this course right for you?

The workshop is described as suitable for all levels and requires no previous experience, so it can accommodate complete beginners as well as learners with prior pottery experience. Participants make their own pieces in a small group, with assistance available as needed.

Before you go

• An apron or old T-shirt is recommended to protect clothing.
• Short nails and tied-back hair are recommended.
• Clay, glaze and all required tools are included.
• The included clay allows one tumbler and one plate or saucer per person to be fired. Extra pieces will not be fired.
• Finished pieces are glazed using a choice of studio glazes and must be collected from Muni London studio when ready, usually 3 to 5 weeks after the workshop.
