About this course
The course introduces British Sign Language through everyday topics including meeting people, numbers, weather, transport and work. Participants develop a basic vocabulary for communicating with Deaf people and practise simple conversations in BSL. Teaching combines interactive activities, pair work, questions and answers, and feedback. Materials are shared through Google Classroom, with opportunities to practise BSL between sessions as homework.

Is this course right for you?
This course is intended for learners at beginner level who want an introduction to British Sign Language. It is available for direct enrolment without an interview, although basic literacy skills are required. Participation includes pair work, interactive activities and practice between classes.
