About this course

The course introduces Japanese through spoken and written practice, supported by presentations, podcasts and the college’s Microsoft Teams platform. Learners work individually, in pairs and in groups while developing foundational communication skills. Topics include pronunciation using English alphabets, everyday greetings, personal information and simple shopping conversations involving prices and colours. The course also introduces reading Hiragana, one of the three Japanese scripts. Learners can discuss the stated outcomes with the tutor and set personal targets related to them.
