About this course

The session considers how history differs from memory and how both operate in public life. Discussion covers heritage landscapes, politics, public debate and popular culture, alongside the idea of history and memory as a democratic practice. Teaching combines sections of teacher presentation with class discussion, allowing the group to examine how prominent figures and groups use these concepts and to consider why this work matters in a democratic context.
