Extended procreate projects for illustration

About this course

The course develops illustration work in Procreate through a series of practical briefs. Participants recap file management, drawing tools, brushes, colour palettes, texture, layers and layer masks before applying these techniques to their own digital drawings. Teaching combines presentations, demonstrations, practical work, individual and group tutoring, and discussion. Learners are encouraged to explore Procreate independently, review their own work and consider extension activities outside class where these are set.

Is this course right for you?

This improver-level course is intended for learners who have completed Procreate for Illustration or already have some experience using the software. Basic illustration skills and an interest in developing personal illustration work are required. Participants work independently on briefs alongside individual and group tutoring, demonstrations and discussion.

Before you go

• Participants must bring their own iPad with Procreate installed; iPads are not provided.
• A stylus such as an Apple Pencil is recommended.
• Basic materials and resources are available as part of the course.
• Learners are advised to bring an A5 or A4 sketchbook for recording ideas.
• An A3 folder and/or USB drive is recommended for transporting work.
• Any additional materials required will be discussed during the course.
