About this course
The course explores how improvisers create believable scenes through agreement, listening, spontaneity and shared focus. Participants work on establishing locations and environments with mime, introducing characters, using entrances and shared activities, and identifying relationships through emotional connection. Further work examines truthful behaviour in imaginary circumstances, drawing on personal experience, expressing feelings, and replacing forced attempts at humour with clear, realistic choices. The course also covers status, power dynamics, character objectives, emotional escalation, and finding character through physical and emotional changes.
