Intermediate Spanish Term 1

About this course

The course develops communication across speaking, listening, reading and writing. Learners work with familiar topics, current events and social issues, practising opinions, arguments, hypothetical situations and conditional ideas about the future. Teaching combines individual activities with pair and small-group work, role-plays, games, and reading or listening tasks focused on gist and key information. Learners receive regular detailed feedback from the tutor and work with different text types, including dialogues, articles, letters and emails.

Is this course right for you?

The course is intended for learners who have completed Spanish 2 (A2) or have a comparable foundation, described as around 50 to 60 hours of study. Participation includes individual work, pair and group activities, role-plays and regular study outside class.

• Basic Spanish knowledge at approximately A2 level is expected.
• Learners should allow 1 to 2 hours each week for activities outside class.
• Good attendance and punctuality are required.

Before you go

• Bring a pen and notebook to lessons.
• A home internet connection and a device are needed for study outside class.
• Weekly access to the Morley Virtual Learning Environment is required for class and supplementary materials.
• Any textbook will be agreed with learners at the beginning of the course.
