About this course

Participants prepare transparent enamels by grinding and rinsing them before applying the material to flat and domed metal surfaces using wet-packing techniques. The course covers kiln firing, judging when enamel has fired correctly, safe handling and surface finishing. Jewellery projects include a simple pair of domed silver earrings, made using a disc cutter and doming tools, followed by a small cloisonné test piece. Regular, detailed tutor feedback is provided as new techniques are introduced.
