About this course
The course introduces Modern Jive through a warm-up, including strolls, followed by demonstrations of individual moves and repeated practice. Learners work with different partners, in small groups and at their own pace, with opportunities for one-to-one guidance and questions.
What you'll learn
- Demonstrate essential Modern Jive footwork
- Apply basic movement, rhythm, coordination, timing and styling techniques
- Perform basic strolls to music
- Use fundamental leading and following skills
- Recall a repertoire of at least eight basic moves and their terminology
- Perform short Modern Jive routines to slower-tempo music

The course is described as suitable for all levels and abilities, while its content is structured for beginners. No previous dance experience or partner is required. Participants should be prepared to dance with different people and have sufficient fitness for sustained exercise.

- Wear comfortable clothing and indoor footwear with a smooth sole; trainers and high heels are not suitable.
