About this course
The course applies music theory directly to singing. Participants work with rhythm, simple and compound time signatures, key signatures, accidentals and more complex score directions such as Da Capo and Da Segno. Sessions combine vocal warm-ups with practical musicianship exercises, written theory tasks and work on unison and part songs. Activities include marking up vocal scores, developing rhythmic accuracy through syncopation and triplets, recognising and singing major, minor, augmented and diminished intervals, and holding a vocal line within harmony. Practice materials are provided for consolidation between sessions.
What you'll learn

- Count and perform rhythms in simple and compound time, including syncopation and triplets
- Recognise major, minor, augmented and diminished intervals by sight and sound
