About this course

The course explores colour extraction from plants and food waste, including the preparation of fabrics and yarns with mordants. Participants will try sustainable natural dyeing and printing techniques, use colour modifiers and develop a collection of fabric samples and swatches. Teaching combines tutor demonstrations with practical activities, supported by examples, reference materials, group discussion and individual guidance. The course also includes an opportunity to visit the college dye garden.

• Fabric samples can be taken home.
