About this course

The course examines how spoken-word poetry differs from written poetry, including its conventions, structure and use of delivery. Participants will explore when to follow or disrupt these conventions while developing their own performance style. Teaching combines writing activities with discussion and visual and audio aids. Learners will create a spoken-word piece, share it with an audience and consider feedback on their work.
