About this course
The course develops basic Portuguese for everyday situations, including greetings, introductions, discussing origins and nationalities, asking simple questions, following classroom instructions and ordering drinks. It introduces vocabulary for numbers, days, countries, cities, languages, colours and classroom objects, alongside personal pronouns, articles, common verbs, regular present-tense -ar verbs, prepositions, contractions and question forms. Learners are introduced to both European and Brazilian Portuguese, with attention to key differences. Cultural content includes coffee traditions, popular snacks and café practices in Portugal, Brazil and other Portuguese-speaking contexts.

Is this course right for you?
This course is designed for complete beginners and learners who have not formally studied Portuguese. The Beginner (A1) level indicates an introductory course focused on establishing foundational language knowledge. It is taught in classes with a maximum of 15 students, with an average class size of around 8.
