About this course
Participants write in response to weekly themes, readings and optional poetic styles, forms or prompts, while also having the option to bring work already in progress. Each poet has at least one poem workshopped by the group, with discussion of the writing and its wider context. The course develops approaches to editing, redrafting and giving constructive critical responses. Alongside building knowledge of contemporary poetry, participants work towards developing several poems for publication.

The course is intended for learners across all levels who have a good standard of written English. Participation includes sharing work for peer and tutor feedback, contributing to group workshops and completing homework each week.
