At B1 Spanish, learners can deal with most everyday situations and explain experiences, opinions and plans in connected language.

  • Express an opinion

    Creo que trabajar desde casa es útil, aunque a veces puede resultar solitario.

    I think working from home is useful, although it can sometimes feel lonely.

  • Explain a plan

    Quiero mejorar mi español para poder trabajar en el extranjero el próximo año.

    I want to improve my Spanish so I can work abroad next year.

  • Tell a short story

    Íbamos hacia la playa cuando empezó a llover, así que cambiamos de planes.

About this course

The course revisits core grammar and vocabulary from Spanish 3 lower while preparing learners for Spanish 3 upper. Topics include anecdotes, society, the environment, feelings and opinions. Grammar revision covers past tenses, the imperative, and direct and indirect pronouns, as well as the subjunctive. Teaching centres on spoken communication through pair and group work, role plays and games, supported by presentations, handouts and audio-visual materials. Homework is highly recommended to consolidate classroom learning.

This course is intended for learners at Intermediate (B1) level who have studied Spanish for around three to four years or have equivalent knowledge. It is designed as revision before joining Spanish 3 upper. Learners should expect regular spoken interaction, including pair and group activities, with homework recommended between classes.
