About this course
This introductory class focuses on the fundamentals of East Coast Swing, including its basic step and the timing needed to dance to upbeat music. Teaching combines demonstration, guided practice and partner rotation, allowing participants to try the movements with different people during the session. Learners may also attend with a partner and remain together if they prefer. The class is designed as an introduction to the style and to the teaching format used in subsequent progressive classes.

Is this course right for you?
The class is intended for absolute beginners, including people with no previous dance experience or natural rhythm training. Participation involves guided partner practice, with partners rotated during the session, although attendees may come with a partner and stay together.

Before you go
- Wear comfortable clothing that allows movement.
- Flat, comfortable shoes with clean, smooth soles are recommended; heavy boots and high heels should be avoided.
