About this course

This workshop introduces hand-building through the creation of a ceramic mug and a small plate. Participants work on both pieces during the session, using the techniques demonstrated for the project. The course is structured around individual making within a class of up to eight people, with pieces subsequently finished in a studio glaze.

Is this course right for you?

The workshop is intended for beginners and explicitly requires no previous experience. The format involves individual making within a shared class setting, with up to eight participants.

Before you go

• Clay and glaze are included for one mug and one small plate per person.
• All tools needed for the workshop are provided.
• An apron or old T-shirt is recommended to protect clothing.
• Short nails and tied-back hair are recommended.
• Only one mug and one plate per person will be fired; additional pieces will be recycled.
• The finished pieces will be glazed in a choice of studio glazes and are ready for collection around three to five weeks after the class.
• Pieces must be collected within three weeks of becoming ready, as they cannot be stored longer.
