About this course
The course introduces the fundamentals of playing violin and/or viola through a combination of whole-class tuition, individual practice and small-group playing. Learners work on pieces and exercises, including clapping and singing activities, while following tutor demonstrations and explanations. Sessions also include questions, discussions and guidance on practice tasks between lessons. General musicianship is developed alongside instrumental technique, with digital resources such as recordings, videos, mobile applications and Microsoft Teams potentially supporting study inside and outside class.
