About this course
Participants develop an acrylic portrait from an initial sketch through to a finished painting. The course covers facial guidelines and proportions, blocking in light and dark shapes, mixing skin tones, and using light and shadow to build form. Learners then refine features such as the eyes, nose and mouth, adding highlights, depth and final adjustments. Teaching combines demonstrations and staged portrait work, with group feedback and review supporting the final refinements.
