About this course

The course develops a portrait through a staged process. Participants begin with facial guidelines, proportion and a basic sketch, then block in the main light and dark shapes. The second stage focuses on mixing skin tones, interpreting light and shadow, building form with acrylic layers and developing facial features. The final stage refines the eyes, nose and mouth, adds highlights and depth, and brings the portrait to a finished state. Group feedback and review are included.
