About this course

The course examines how actors respond to impulses and interact with partners or an ensemble. Sessions combine acting exercises and games with Stanislavski- and Meisner-based techniques, leading towards extended, character-led improvisation. Participants practise attentive listening, explore the psychological drivers behind actions, and develop detailed characters while working collectively. Physical theatre techniques are also included, so the work involves movement as well as vocal and psychological engagement.

What you'll learn

  • Apply Stanislavski- and Meisner-based techniques through acting exercises and improvisation
  • Practise attentive, responsive listening during performance work
  • Develop credible and detailed characters
  • Sustain character-led improvisation over an extended period
  • Contribute to dynamic ensemble work
