About this course

The course develops Arabic communication across speaking, reading and writing, with increasing attention to grammatical accuracy. Conversation topics include wedding celebrations, education and training, and clothing in different Arabic-speaking countries, including Iraq. Grammar work covers adjective agreement, relative pronouns, double and weak verbs, and imperative and jussive endings. Teaching centres on spoken interaction through pair and group work, role play and games. Presentations, handouts and audio-visual resources are also used, with homework recommended to consolidate the classwork.

Is this course right for you?

This course is intended for learners at an intermediate level of Arabic who have completed Arabic 2 upper, studied Arabic for around three years recently, or developed equivalent competence. Participants should be able to follow simple instructions and explanations and read course documents in English. Familiarity with everyday numbers is needed, while basic grammar terminology would be helpful.
