What Intermediate (B1) Mandarin means

At B1 Mandarin, learners can deal with most everyday situations and explain experiences, opinions and plans in connected language.

  • Express an opinion

    我觉得在家工作很方便,不过有时候会感到孤独。

I think working from home is convenient, although it can sometimes feel lonely.

  • Explain a plan

    我想提高汉语水平,这样明年就能去国外工作。

I want to improve my Mandarin so I can work abroad next year.

  • Tell a short story

    我们正要去海边,突然下起雨来,所以只好改变计划。

We were heading to the beach when it started raining, so we had to change our plans.

These are general examples of language use at this level, not a description of any individual course syllabus.
