About this course

The course develops the building blocks of clear written English through practice with everyday formats, including messages, emails and short paragraphs. Learners work on word order, basic grammar, capital letters, full stops and vocabulary choice, then use strategies to organise ideas and check for simple errors. Activities focus on producing and improving short pieces of writing rather than studying language rules in isolation. The course is intended to help learners prepare for a subsequent Getting Ready for Functional Skills English course.
