About this course

The course develops spoken English for situations at home, work, study and in the community. Participants practise discussing everyday topics, sharing experiences, making plans, giving instructions, explaining opinions and responding appropriately in different situations. Listening work uses conversations, instructions, short talks and announcements, with attention to main ideas and key details. The course also covers pronunciation, intonation, fluency, vocabulary and grammar, including present and past tenses, comparisons, future forms and modal verbs. Activities prepare participants for the Ascentis Entry 3 Speaking and Listening qualification.
