What Pre-intermediate (A2+) Italian means
At A2+ Italian, learners can connect simple sentences, give reasons and manage a wider range of familiar situations.

About this course
The course develops spoken Italian through group discussions, role-plays and practical exercises, with lessons conducted primarily in Italian. Learners work with travel, weather, holidays, family life and cultural traditions while extending their use of everyday expressions and time phrases. Grammar and vocabulary work includes the passato prossimo, regular and irregular past participles, the particle ci, possessive adjectives, numbers from 101 to 10,000 and structures for discussing past and future events. Lesson summaries, notes, study resources and Italian study tips are included.

Is this course right for you?
The course is intended for learners who have already started Italian and is recommended for those who have completed Levels 3 and 4 or at least 48 class hours. The fast-track format involves attending twice weekly, with substantial participation in spoken and interactive activities.
- Designed for learners progressing beyond the earliest stages of Italian.
- Previous completion of Italian Levels 3 and 4 or equivalent study is recommended.
- A placement test is recommended for learners with existing Italian knowledge who may need a different level.
- Progression is based on class participation and self-study rather than formal tests.
