About this course
The course develops French communication across speaking, listening, reading and writing. Learners discuss topics with classmates, practise grammar in spoken contexts, complete written grammar exercises and work with authentic materials, including texts and videos. Class content includes French-speaking cultures, regions and places of interest, with opportunities to express opinions and understand the main points of short conversations and video extracts. Previous learning is revisited and extended through vocabulary, expressions and practical written formats such as emails, letters and short stories.

This course is intended for learners working at intermediate French level (B1), including those with a rusty GCSE background. It involves regular speaking with others in class, group discussion and practice across four language skills. Learners are expected to attend punctually and complete activities outside class.
