About this course

The course focuses on extracting information from short written texts and working out the meaning of words in context. Activities include reading aloud, writing tasks, quizzes, word searches, games, audio work and role play, with digital learning technology also used in class. Learners work individually, in pairs and in small groups, and have one-to-one discussions with the tutor about their progress. The course also includes preparation for relevant English examinations.

Is this course right for you?

The course is intended for learners developing English at around the level just below Entry 2. The source describes learners who have passed Entry 1 exams or who can understand and speak English at a pre-intermediate level, read and write in their own language, and use the Roman alphabet. An initial assessment determines suitability.
