About this course

The course develops reading in English by working with short written texts, identifying relevant information and interpreting vocabulary. Learners take part in reading aloud, writing activities, quizzes, word searches, games, audio work and role play, with digital learning technologies used as part of the class. Activities may be completed independently, in pairs or in small groups, alongside one-to-one discussions with the tutor about progress. An initial assessment is used to establish whether the learner’s level is just below Entry Level 2.

Is this course right for you?

The course is intended for learners whose English is just below Entry Level 2. The source describes participants as having passed Entry 1 exams or being able to understand and speak English at pre-intermediate level, as well as read and write in their own language using the Roman alphabet. An initial assessment determines suitability.
