About this course

The course introduces the rock cycle and the formation of igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic rocks, alongside plate tectonics and the forces that produce mountains, earthquakes and volcanoes. It also examines how rivers, glaciers and oceans shape features such as canyons and coastlines. Teaching combines lectures, discussions and hands-on activities. Learners will use maps, satellite images and other geological clues to analyse landscapes and apply geological ideas when interpreting places encountered during travel or outdoor activities.
