About this course
Study centres on modern Italian literature, with learners reading and analysing texts by modern authors. Sessions also use short videos in original Italian to practise listening comprehension, alongside discussion of themes linked to Italian society and culture. Group discussion provides opportunities to express viewpoints in Italian, while occasional review addresses grammar rules and other linguistic phenomena. Teaching combines text analysis, listening tasks, discussion and periodic language review, with regular tutor feedback on learners’ work.

This course is intended for upper-intermediate (B2) and advanced Italian learners. Participation involves reading, listening, group discussion and speaking about literature, society and culture. Excellent attendance and punctuality are required, and learners are advised to allow extra time for study outside class.
