About this course

The course combines ongoing practice in reading, writing and conversation with discussion-based work on everyday situations and experiences. Topics include describing sounds, smells and tastes, discussing things that are unclear or troubling, considering changes in life, and sharing information from other sources. Grammar work covers supposition, certainty and uncertainty, impressions, beliefs, expectations, opinions, reasons, passive forms, imperatives, preparation, and ways of describing actions completed or planned. The course also includes review activities and presentations.

Is this course right for you?

This course is intended for learners who have completed Level 2 or can demonstrate a similar foundation. The stated profile includes confident Hiragana and Katakana reading and writing, familiarity with several hundred vocabulary items, basic daily conversation with a native Japanese speaker, Level 2 grammar knowledge and some Kanji knowledge.
