About this course
Participants shape a ceramic trinket dish by hand, using clay and workshop tools to form the dish. They then decorate it with coloured slips, creating a finished surface that will be made waterproof with a transparent glaze after drying. The workshop is structured as a guided practical session and includes time to clean the workspace.

Is this course right for you?
The workshop is designed for complete beginners and states that no previous pottery experience is required. The Beginner level indicates an introductory class focused on fundamental hand-building and decoration techniques, with participants making their own individual piece.
Before you go
- An apron or old T-shirt is recommended to protect clothing.
- Short nails are advised.
- Clay, coloured slips, glaze and all necessary workshop tools are included.
- The class includes materials for one trinket dish per person, up to 20cm wide. Only one dish per person will be fired; extra pieces will be recycled.
- The finished piece is glazed after drying and can be collected 3 to 5 weeks after the class.
