Sing Reggae to Broadway: musical theatre singing (beginners)

About this course

The course introduces foundational singing technique through posture, breathing, warm-ups, pitch, diction and vocal projection. Learners practise contrasting contemporary Broadway and Reggae or Caribbean-influenced songs, examining groove, syncopation, rhythmic phrasing and call-and-response alongside musical theatre approaches to dynamics, characterisation and storytelling. Teaching combines group exercises, tutor-led guidance and rehearsal. Participants develop performance skills through facial expression, stage presence and emotional connection, then share a short song extract in an informal class showcase.
