What Beginner (A1) Spanish means

At A1 Spanish, learners are beginning to use familiar words and simple sentences in predictable everyday situations.

    Me llamo Ana. Vivo en Londres.

    My name is Ana. I live in London.

About this course

The course introduces Spanish for practical communication, with activities centred on meeting people, exchanging personal information and handling straightforward requests or instructions. Learners practise speaking and listening through everyday, community and simple workplace situations. Basic language structures include el presente, with regular verbs and forms such as ser, llamarse and tener. The course also covers numbers, dates, times, prices and schedules, enabling learners to give simple information and understand routine details.
