About this course

This class uses hand-building techniques to create one small bum-shaped planter. Participants shape the clay into the required form during the workshop, with the session focused on producing a single finished piece rather than practising on multiple projects. Once the planter has dried, it is glazed in a studio glaze selected by the participant.

Is this course right for you?

The workshop is intended for beginners and explicitly requires no previous clay experience. It involves making one individual piece during a guided pottery session, using hand-building rather than wheel-based techniques.

• The class focuses on one small planter per participant

Before you go

• An apron or old T-shirt is recommended to protect clothing.
• Short nails and tied-back hair are recommended.
• Clay, glaze and all required tools are included.
• The finished piece is glazed in a studio glaze after drying; the chosen glaze should be marked on the piece.
• Finished pieces can be collected after the provider confirms they are ready, usually 3 to 5 weeks after the class.
