About this course

The course introduces or develops pottery skills across hand building, wheel throwing, surface decoration and glazing. Each session focuses on a different technique, while allowing time to practise and experiment with clay. Teaching is structured but adaptable, with learners able to work at their own pace. The course provides access to buff stoneware clay, pottery tools, slips, moulds and studio glazes for making and finishing pieces.

The course is designed for complete beginners as well as intermediate makers. It combines demonstrations and technique-focused teaching with individual practice, so learners can work at a pace suited to their existing experience.

Before you go

• All course materials and equipment are provided, including buff stoneware clay, tools, slips, moulds and studio glazes.
• Wear clothes that can get dirty.
• Learners are encouraged to bring their own packaging when collecting finished pieces.
