About this course
The course introduces practical woodwork for straightforward home projects. Learners will measure, mark, cut and adjust timber, assemble components with basic hand tools, and make at least two simple joints. It also covers selecting suitable wood and using basic woodworking terminology. Tutor guidance supports participants as they plan and complete a small project, such as a shelf, box, plant stand, picture frame or basic storage unit. Safe working practices and basic workshop health and safety are included throughout.
