About this course

The course develops Arabic for everyday situations through topics including restaurant orders, past events, numbers, weather and travel. Learners work with past and present tenses, plurals, adjectives, sentence connections and expressions of quantity, while practising formal and informal questions. Teaching centres on spoken interaction and communication, using pair and group activities, role plays, games, presentations, hand-outs and audio-visual resources. Modern Standard Arabic and a closely related spoken form are used, with reference to major colloquial varieties where relevant. Written practice includes emails and postcards.

Is this course right for you?

This course is intended for learners at Elementary (A2) level who have completed an Arabic beginners course or studied Arabic for about a year. Learners should have covered the tenses and be familiar with verb conjugation. Participation includes spoken interaction, pair work, group work and role plays.

• Homework is highly recommended to consolidate learning
