Greek – Post Beginners Stage 3

About this course

The course develops communication across everyday and social contexts, including meeting people, professional life, home, leisure and entertainment. Learners practise discussing past and future events, giving opinions, expressing emotions, agreeing and disagreeing, and handling situations such as medical conversations and holiday planning. Teaching combines role-play, group discussion and other classroom activities. Language work covers comparatives, connectors, prepositions, descriptive adjectives and adverbs, modal verbs, and basic structures for present, past and future timeframes. Homework is set after each session, and progress is monitored through classroom observation and activities rather than an exam.

Is this course right for you?

This course is intended for learners developing beyond fundamental Greek language skills. Entry is through completion of Post Beginners Stage 2 or, for learners who have not studied Greek at RHACC, the provider’s self-assessment and placement test. Sessions involve group discussions, role-play and regular classroom participation.

• Regular attendance is advisable because progress is assessed through ongoing classroom activities.
• Homework is set after each session.
• The course is not structured as an exam course.

Before you go

• Learners should bring a pen and paper or an electronic device.
• The tutor will identify the textbook to purchase during the first class.
• Learners who have not previously taken Greek at RHACC should complete the provider’s self-assessment and placement test.
