About this course

The course covers several core pottery processes, including hand building, wheel throwing, surface decoration and glazing. Each week centres on a different technique, while allowing time to practise and experiment with clay rather than following a fixed pace. The format is intended to accommodate learners from those with no prior experience through to intermediate makers. Participants can work on learning unfamiliar processes or extending existing skills within a structured class environment, with teacher guidance alongside time to apply techniques to their own pieces.

• Materials are provided throughout, including buff stoneware clay, tools, slips, moulds and glazes.
• Bring clothes that can get dirty.
