About this course

The course introduces wheel throwing from foundational methods through shaping and form development, then extends into surface decoration and glazing. Each session focuses on a different technique while allowing time to practise and experiment with clay. Learners work with buff stoneware clay and explore the use of slips, moulds and studio glazes as part of the making process. The pace is learner-led, with teaching suited to those developing from basic methods towards intermediate-level making.

What you'll learn

  • Use foundational wheel-throwing techniques
  • Develop and refine forms on the potter’s wheel
  • Apply surface decoration using slips and related methods
