12-week Wheel Throwing Introduction Course

About this course

The course develops wheel-throwing skills from clay preparation and centring through cylinders, bowls and control of wall thickness. Participants also learn to trim forms, create foot rings and pull handles. Later work introduces slip decoration and sgraffito, alongside final trimming and preparation for bisque firing. The format prioritises repetition over rapidly introducing new techniques, with time for personal projects and individual guidance on participants’ work.
