About this course
The course introduces core watercolour methods through guided exercises, including flat and gradient washes, wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry application, and texture techniques such as salt, dry brush and lifting. Participants also practise colour mixing with primary and warm or cool colours, values, greens, layering and control. The later work focuses on simple forms and composition. Participants plan a focal point, balance and colour scheme before producing a final landscape, still life or floral painting, with quick feedback on the finished piece.
