About this course

The course introduces draping as a pattern-cutting method, beginning with a simple bodice formed directly on a dressmakers’ stand. Participants pin, fold and mark fabric, then remove the drape to trace it onto paper and make adjustments. Further exercises explore different skirt and top shapes, including the use of darts and collars to refine garment fit. Teaching combines step-by-step demonstrations with reference to diagrams and instructions from Connie Amaden-Crawford’s Art of Fashion Draping.
