3D Draping on The Stand Summer School Short Course

About this course

Participants work directly on a dressmaker stand or mannequin, shaping fabric into design concepts before transferring the resulting forms to paper as patterns. The course then explores more advanced approaches to creating varied silhouettes and styles. Tutor demonstrations are supported by step-by-step diagrams from Connie Amaden-Crawford’s Art of Fashion Draping. The course concludes with the construction and sewing of a finished toile, or test garment, allowing the draped design to be developed into a three-dimensional garment form.
