5 Day Advanced Carpentry

About this course

The course develops advanced furniture-making skills through projects based on fitted wardrobes and alcove cupboards with shelving. Participants work on marking out, cutting and scribing MDF, fitting doors and hinges, profiling skirtings, constructing drawers and making mitred worktops. Instruction also covers shaker-style doors and decorative routing, with guidance from experienced tradespeople. Learners may discuss a specific furniture project or building plans with the instructors during the course.

What you'll learn

• Mark out a fitted wardrobe template on a wall
• Cut and scribe MDF panels, including 45-degree cuts
• Fit doors, hinges and profiled skirtings
• Construct and fix drawers and make mitred worktops
• Create shaker-style doors and routed decorative profiles
