About this course

Participants learn foundational wheel throwing techniques by centering clay and shaping forms including bowls, cups and small vases. The course also covers attaching handles and developing a range of ceramic pieces through guided practice. Classes are limited to eight participants, allowing for individual guidance alongside group teaching. Participants typically make around six pieces during the course.

Before you go

• A range of studio glazes is available for experimentation.
• Additional time for ceramic painting can be arranged.
• Finished pieces are usually ready for collection about four weeks after the course ends, though this may sometimes take longer.
• The provider emails when work is ready, and pieces must be collected within four weeks of that notification. Uncollected work may be given to charity shops.
