About this course
The course introduces philosophical ways of thinking through questions about the relationship between thought, concepts and reality. Participants examine how concepts such as justice and freedom can be analysed, and consider examples of philosophical arguments drawn from a range of writings. Teaching follows a seminar format, combining short tutor presentations with question-and-answer sessions and open discussion. The course also introduces ways of using philosophical texts and developing a simple argument on a topic chosen by the learner.
